Parenting Books

My family and I were getting on the light rail in downtown SLC on a Friday evening to find the car pretty full. I had my toddler in a sling and was going to stand since a young man had his leg folded comfortably across half of the only available seat. Re-thinkng this and realizing it was silly of me to enable rudeness, I went ahead and sat down, adjusting the baby onto my lap. He didn't move his leg. He didn't seem to notice. He didn't even pause his conversation with the pretty girl behind him.

Granted, it was an engaging topic about how the fake baby she was holding for class might start to cry....  Then an amusing interchange ensued with my husband loundly asking me in an overly concerned voice, "Are you alright?...Do you have enough room?...Are you sure you're comfortable?" Then, when that didn't have any affect,  "Do you mind moving over--she is holding a baby." To which the young man acted as though I had suddenly appeared right before his eyes, and was all politenss.... I could wax poetic on the irony of it all...but instead I'll just list
